ICAN first approached us in 2017 sort of “half branded.” They had a very talented designer assisting them with their branding, but unfortunately, he had to leave the project due to a job opportunity outside the area. In the absence of brand guidelines, ICAN’s employees took it upon themselves to create marketing materials using tools like Canva, PowerPoint, and Word, incorporating the available brand assets as they saw fit. While their efforts were commendable, not having brand guidelines to follow is a recipe for inconsistencies. When we started the project, we identified four different versions of the logo being used… Yikes!
We took over from where the previous designer left off and completed the branding for ICAN. Understanding the needs of their business, we ensured they had access to proper files for employees to use. To maintain consistency across platforms like Canva, we selected open-source typefaces from Google Fonts.
In 2021 ICAN became a retainer client of ours, and we are honored to work with them on a weekly basis to maintain brand consistency and provide ongoing support. Since then, we have helped with a new website design and creatives for their bi-yearly fundraisers.
Since our work with ICAN in 2017 they have expanded from operating in a rented space in a church to 3 locations, Torrance, Long Beach, and Redondo Beach, with plans for further growth in the future!
ICAN is a fantastic nonprofit if you are looking for a good cause to donate to! Find out more here.
“Our team had an enthusiastically positive experience working with Jordis and her team.
Our branding was a mess because employees would each use logos in various ways and were not 100+% consistent. She completely rebuilt our website. She moved us off a Square Space template to a custom site that is much more suitable for our needs. It’s now easy for my team to create the materials they need and keep everything consistant and feeling like us. ”
