It boasts a relaxed vibe with hearty pub and Mexican food… it’s very “Southern California”. We helped with rebranding the sports bar and giving it a fresh update feel.

The Problem
Max’s was in need of a facelift… and more than just a branding facelift. The owner wanted to update the entire interior as well. It had grown a little stale over the years, and it was time to breathe some life into the place and set it up for the next 20 years. We were hired to help rebrand the sports bar.
How We Helped
We partnered with our go-to Interior Designer, Sage Allard, on this project. We devised a vision for the brand and interior to make sure we were working in alignment. The vibe was upscale garage meets sports locker room. I wanted the logo to feel familiar yet fresh and updated. The original Max’s logo was a simple block typeface. We went a little further and played off old auto logos and gave it a containing shape that extended down from the “M” and wrapped the wordmark logo. It has a very “badge” feel. It’s bold and visible. The primary color before the rebrand was red, so we didn’t want to change that; it held too much equity. We added in a field green color and accented the red with yellow and orange for a retro feel.
The Results
Max’s is cohesive and set up for longevity, not only with an updated space but also with updated branding. It feels like a place you want to be. The new logo is primed for visibility and memorability. They have a logo system that works for all their exterior signage as well as on merchandise.
